Boundaries are something with which I think most people struggle. It's easy to have boundaries that are so rigid they prevent connection, or boundaries that are so porous we end up feeling used and resentful. Learning to set and maintain boundaries is an act of love -- self-love and love for the people with whom you wish to stay in relationship. They give others a map for how you to care for you in a way that is helpful to you. When you set boundaries, you tell people you care enough about your relationship to tend it.
