The Benefits of Meditation on Mental Health.

I love meditation because it is a tool people can use anywhere at any time. Meditation can help soothe and regulate the nervous system, and it is a great way to reset one's energy and settle into the body. Right now, my top two favorite FREE meditation apps are "Balance" and "Insight Timer." Besides guided meditations, both apps also offer things like sleep sounds and productivity music.  


"Balance" has a free trial period of one whole year! The app will create a personalized meditation plan that matches the user's experience and preferences, so this is a great option for newbies. "Insight Timer" has a membership plan, but I think it offers the best selection of content for people who use the app for free. The material is more diverse, and it might be better suited for people who are more familiar with meditation.

  • For a quick body scan: “Body Scan Relaxation” by Andrew Johnson

  • For self-compassion/positive affirmation: “I Receive That” by Dora Kamau

  • Other favorite creators: David Ji and Lalah Delia
